I really like the umbrella. I think you should get a few and roll with it. Excellent ingenuity, and I appreciate that you are repurposing a frequently neglected tool of survival to begin with.

Also, take a look at the movie "Six String Samurai" They created an amazing post-apocalyptic umbrella for that film.
