Tony Oursler at the Adobe Museum of Digital Art

Joseph Mougel (who you might remember from the video installation he did in Houghton House in Fall 2008) just sent me this link. The teaser video for the upcoming Tony Oursler exhibition is fabulous, I can't wait to see the exhibit!

(The video below is from Youtube, captured at a musuem with someone's camcorder or cell-phone video cam... click on the link above for a much better quality video about Tony Oursler!)

Studio Lighting for Chroma Key

Pretty darn good article on studio lighting for Chroma-Key!

(FYI... Part 2 is for an older version of Final Cut... while you can do something similar in Final Cut 6, there is a better way, which we will talk about!)

(This reading is not required... but it is a great reference if you think you will use Chroma Key in your own videos).

You Cannot Talk to the Guys in the Boat

Love it or hate it, Survivor was a turning point in American TV. While experiments in "reality tv" existed before Survivor, "reality" as a genre spread like wildfire over the networks.

The article "You Cannot Talk to the Guys in the Boat" brings up numerous issues related to the genre, and to Survivor in particular. Discuss two elements that you find to be problematic, troubling, interesting, surprising or otherwise worthy of further exploration.

Comments are due by noon on Tuesday, September 7th.
