Catherine Sullivan: The Chittendens

A short clip from "The Chittendens":

  1. "The Chittendens" by Catherine Sullivan was inspired a spontaneous discovery in Phoenix, a previous collaboration with composer Sean Griffin and a interest on the artist's behalf. The "hysterical film noir" combines creativity and discovery. Discovery is always my stem of creativity. Discovery can be from a reading, picture, video, conversation and oh yea, even a class lecture...

"CS: I am interested in what produces or generates the behaviour of performers. I have always viewed the devices – be they texts, reenactments of historic performances or received styles and gestures – as a means to animate different qualities in each performer according to their individual biographies. " When I work on a project I wanna know what the performers go through and how I can bring out raw emotion. I want to capture heightened emotion and express it in a beautiful manner for my audience.

    Ok, I might re-post.
