Distorted Self Image
My proposed final project will examine the concept of distorted self image. As cliche as it is, our society faces a mass bombardment of perfect human images constantly-because of this, men and women alike experience, in some way, insecurities with their bodies.
My project will ACTUALLY distort bodies, of which the aim is to emphasize that the only thing distorted about bodies is our perception of them.
There will be images of stationery people in everyday settings projected onto a strange surfaces that ACTUALLY distort the body, instead of an illusion of distortion the mind creates.
